    Marlin 1895 Firearms Quality

    Evening lads,

I've just been doing some online research into the Marlin 1895 SBL and have found a number of videos and reviews that demonstrate several quality control issues. These range from poor woodwork, canted iron sights, poor cycling, and so on. I wanted to ask any 1895 owners, or any Marlin firearms owners in general, if they have experienced these issues with the NZ shipment?

    Cheers,
    Dan

I think Daniel it may pay to check when these ones with the quality control problems were made
There has been various stages on Marling quality depending on the current owner of the product, mine is fine [ not an 1895 but a 30 30] but thirty yeas old, others more recent have had some documented issues.
It looks as if the ownership has changed or is about to change again, many have high hopes for better quality with the reported new owner going forward.

My 1895 SBL Sept 2019 build no problems at all.
Velocity is thrilling, but diameter does the real killing.

The new marlins are a bit rough around the edges, ruger has just bought marlin so it will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable difference in qc

Up or down???? Bean counters at ruger probably trained at the same time as the bean counters at Marlin....

So I should wait before picking up an 1895 CB?

Mate I have had around 5-6 at a conservative estimate over the last 5 years.

All were great, these ranged from 45-70 to 357 Mag.

They all go well and I think the issues your internet forums speak of are either outdated or inflated.

As mentioned above, have a good look before you buy when you can.
