    Marlin 22 trigger lightening

    Hi Guys, sorry if this has been asked already I did a search.
    Picked up a marlin 22 mag cheap of the forum today, very tidy gun thanks
    Pome.
    This thing has the worst trigger I've ever seen the pull is massive, any way two lighten it?
    I farmer attacked it and cut the spring a bit shorter but didn't really make any difference.
    Any help appreciated.

    @gadgetman

    I changed a spring inside it with one from a pen and that helped a bit on mine

    I thought I read that somewhere thanks. I cut the spring so it was very light, read two light the thing wouldn't cock and the pull was still hard as hell.

    I sent mine to malcom gillice who lightend mine nicely.
    There is a spring kit from mccarbo I think that you can import from the states.
    The one I bought is the aniversary one with the tube mag and semi auto, a very accurate little rig I might add!
    My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!

    andyanimal31 is talking about the semi auto not the bolt action. With the Bolt action there are two springs that may need attention. The trigger return spring needs weakening and the sear spring may need strengthening/shimming to increase pressure in order to reduce trigger pull. If it is not resetting then you have probably cut the trigger return spring too short. If the trigger is still too stiff then you need to increase the sear spring pressure and maybe even stone some of the surfaces.

    This is most likely what you are after.

    For the semi you can always DIY starting with a trigger return spring from a 3.5" floppy.

    That kit wont be any use for a bolt action Brads. I did the DIY job, took about 10 minutes. 5 of those minutes would have been finding the spring when it flew out the floppy shutter.

    Just looked on their site, the links to purchase have gone, but appears they are still selling via ebay? The 795 kit was US$38, so guess they are all a similar price. Might have to give the DIY job a go first maybe.
