    Marlin 336 ss

    Righto folks!

Kinda crossing my mind to grab a Marlin 336 ss in 30-30 as a quick bush gun for round here and can absolutely see the merits of one for my intended purpose but what I'm wanting to know is a few first hand experiences of the mentioned rifle.

    Cheers

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Had a blued Remington made Marlin for 10 days. It had a misthreaded barrel what I did not noticed at the shop so back it went. Than grabbed a SS Rossi 30-30 for half the price.
Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

Had a 3030 in the UK for many years, made in 74, having worked on Rossi rifles I would give them a miss, and the Winchester is far to much rattle, Marlins are mean,t for bush work, easy to put a scope on if you want or a red dot.

My plan is to pop a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40(or a 50 if they make one) with the triangle post reticle. The reason for the magnification range is to get to largest objective lenses for sucking in the light in the bush without having a ultra heavy tank of a thing whilst still staying under the $1k mark
