Marlin model 60 last shot bolt hold open.

Is it ok to store the fire arm with the bolt ooen, or will it eventually compromise the spring?

I let bolt forward, and then ease bolt back off chamber an eighth of an inch and drop the hammer so the hammer spring doesn't get tired, but also so the chamber doesn't get smooshed by the pin

Not this one. The tube has been shortened. Now only holds 10.
