I've got a Marlin X7 in .270 - bought it second hand.
Had a few issues with the mounting rail and broken screws - easy fix (research suggests common fault). A few new screws, some loctite and a bit of expoxy on the rail. I also - strengthened the foreend of the stock with some of that 'Ballistic Research' epoxy resin - seems to have done the trick. A lot more rigid and consistent when shooting off the bipod. It's primarily the old mans rifle and he has no troubles hitting a 8" plate at 350 yards using factory ammo - more than accurate enough for him.
For the price can't go wrong!
