    Mauser M18

Morning all, I'm seriously considering buying an M18 in .308...I searched and read the results and seems they aren't raved about or hated, so can't be too bad correct?.

This bang stick is 17" plus can, I think it would be a good wee bush rifle. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

    Have a happy Friday.

No idea about the model...but 17" is a nice barrel length.

I had one in 308 as a "loaner" and cause I like pissing about with rifles but it got sold on. Worked and shot fine, trigger was first class. If the stock dimensions fit you nicely and the price is right go for it.

Ive got one in .223. Love the trigger, does everything its meant to do. The mag is a real bitch to load. Shoots VERY well.

As above. Great rifles. Accurate. Bit on the heavy side. Awesome trigger.
308 mag will be sweet as to load. Only the 223 that sucks.

Didn't get there before they closed mate, work got in the way..I'm hoping 'work' will give me an excuse to be out that way during next week. The Mauser has a pitcainny rail so I'd just need a good 3-9 scope to put on it I reckon, bush stuff.

I have one in .308 and I love it. In terms of value for money and performance for the dollar they are very hard to beat.

I have one in 308, mine still has the full length 22" barrel and is factory threaded at 15x1.

I was looking at getting a Tikka so borrowed my sons and found they just don't fit me very well, picked up the Mauser and it just felt right. I bought mine new at a very good price as it had been sitting on the shelf for ages, it shoots well, feeds well and no issues with the magazine. Only downside is the mag is a little short if you want to seat your projectiles long.

I also found mine prefers the Nosler Ballistic Tips in 165g rather than the 150's I tried first. So far haven't tried any other projectiles.
    Happy Jack.

Yup great budget rifle, I'm not a big fan of nice rifle manufactures going down the "cheap shit" rabbit hole ( don't get me started on the first gen Sauer 100 fuk me what an enormous POS ) but the M18 is a bloody nice rifle for what it is.

As others have said, they have get triggers, bolt & stock are fine & they shoot mint, I had one in 223 & as Wayne said the mag is shite ( being a short - small cartridge in a full length - wide action )

    I'd happily own another
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!
