Mauser model 1904
Stupid question
Do I have to be careful buying factory ammo for my model 1904 mauser rifle?
It is cambered in 7x57
I hear people stating that you have to be careful when reloading this caliber due to its use in some older rifles, would mine count as one of these?

Its a k98 action so should be fine. Condition is probably more important.

Nice caliber - - factory ammo will be fine

Reload close to factory spec and you won't have any problems. I find 139 grain pills to shoot extremely well with my 7x57 Mauser.
Check the condition carefully before deciding on any hot loads.

Bit different with the split rear bridge is the bolt the same as a 98 Mauser? Ok I just found it my Mauser book they have a separate bolt head etc be careful stripping the bolt as it's much different to a mod 98 Mauser bolt.
