    May have snookered myself?

Thinking I was a clever bastard I decided that going to a MIL scope was a great idea (and it was) so I promptly bought baldbobs Premier but I have opened a new can of worms. I have a CRF1200 range finder in yards. I also have a Z5 with BT turret (on my 243AI), which also clicks in MOA (and has a 4W MOA scale reticle). The Z5 is not a big deal as I could live with the elevation marker rings set to metric and fudge the wind but Im guessing I really should be getting a metric rangefinder now? To use yards and MIL sounds like a gangfuck waiting to happen. Im thinking the CRF1600? They can switch between meters/yards?
Bit of a laugh was that the Z5 wants to be metric as the click increments are marked in 5 click intervals

    Just do everything in yards.

A mil is only an angle, so 1 mil is 1m at 1000m or 1yd at 1000yd...

If your turrets and reticle are both MIL, you are smiling... Measure the correction with the reticle, and dial, no math required...

My rangefinder (geovids) are in yards and all my scopes are in mils,
I've never had a problem, all my drop charts go out in 25 yard increments and I just dial the required drop the ballistic program has calculated.

Given the option though I would sell my yard geovids and go metric

KJ the original meaning of snookered was to have your ball on the table covered by someone elses ball and the modern urban meaning is to be absolutely fucked. Probably neither of these meanings apply. EBF is on to it.

Couldn't you sort it out with the right ballistic app(s) on your phone?

Brain not in gear. ebf is correct, being base 10 the input does not really matter. I think I will find an excuse to get a switch rangefinder though.

I'm looking for a metric rangefinder myself. My TM cheapo died after giving 4 years of constant use. It is the std 7x black monocular ones you can buy off ebay for as little at $120. The range button has gone cactus, is wearing out fast. Pity - it was good for close ranges out to 450m.

I went looking and some other units claim they hit 1200m for the same money. I'll be saving tho and getting a good leica or similar from a forum member. My good run with chinese abominations is bound to run out soon

In a long line of loopy rangefinders that don't work? I would certainly sit on the fence with them until I was sure they could actually range anywhere near the stated distances.
