Bit of Sarcasm there :D... OK pure sarcasm.
whats with the left leaning line . . . its come up a couple of times in this thread.
Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't it a right wing conservative government in Aussie that put in place the grand stuff up they have there now for gun laws. . . and Canada's little experiment with gun registration.
Because it's the left making all the noise about it at the moment

However, I have seen a former Labour leader in an Auckland gunshop, so although the party line of some lefty parties may be to get rid of firearms in private hands, sometimes even the right will ratfuck you too. This is why the NRA is necessary, they hold politicians to account when it comes to firearm owners interests
I don't quite think all journos are left leaning, even with the sodding Herald it's purely a business decsion (more workers than bosses in Auckland so tailoring the product to the masses).
However, I would agree the majority are very similar to politicians in that detail is quite boring and doesn't with votes or prizes where a few snappy one-liners chucked together without a lot of thought can really get them some attention. Bit like Chris Gale on live TV (never said anything remotely memorable but the look on the face of the reporter was priceless).
You could also tell She wanted to say Yes.

Well then bingo, this was David Shearer, he had his old MGA outside. Good for him.
Only time I ever saw Norman and Turei, they were in a resort on Waiheke and I was heckling the shit out of them: "gimme back my flaaaaag"
Peters comes into work occasionally, no way those high heels go anywhere near anything rougher than concrete/tarmac.
There was always our good old Trevor De Cleene, aka "Shotgun Trevor". Ah, the good old days.

AK47, M16 guns found in huge South Auckland drugs and firearms bust | Stuff.co.nz
"Auckland police have found a "large number of firearms", including military-assault grade AK47s and M16s, in the ceiling of Takanini house."
military-assault grade, do they have a boggle set with scary words that they throw each time a rifle tuns up?
It's a straight copy and paste from the Police press release.
Police find large number of firearms in ceiling of Takanini house as part of organised crime operation | New Zealand Police
"military-assault grade" - so these must be full auto, and covered in the blood of insurgents.
Or have I just been reading from the mass media too long :p
I think the threshold for "military-assault grade" is as low as "i have seen a picture of a guy in camo holding one"
But seriously do you reckon these were full auto?
Why would you think that ?
wel lIMHO-if the coppers can find who supplied these guys with the armoury before they go into the dock ,someone plays 48hrs of continuous bollocks soccer ,usin their bollocks.
No doubt the judiciary will demonstrate some softcock traits in sentencing so why not soften their nuts to match.
we can respectfully inform the learned judge this is a present from all good honest reliable FAL holders.who are in fact sick&fucking tired of being tarred and feathered due to the behaviour of lowlife self centred death peddlers&wannebe rambos!
gawd im a cheerful prick!
They may have been modded to a backyard version of full auto (as opposed to select fire), so the Police description could be sort of close.
Anyway, the timing of this 'find' is sooooo convenient given NZP's plans on proposed changes to the Arms Act.
People like reporters dont know the difference between an M16, AR15, M4 or a M98. Well they might notice the difference of a M98 but it stretching things a bit. I'm surprised they didn't call them long range high powered sniper assault rifles or some such...If it was the media they would have if they could have...
I would doubt full auto unless modified by them afterwards. Look like normal e cat and possibly stolen A cat with stolen extras added afterwards.... They might be legitimately purchased with money earned from a job, but I doubt it...
Media definition of Sniper rifle is anything with a scope on it.
Long range is the same but with a suppressor attached.
Tactical is anything with a Torch fitted
High powered is anything that is not an air gun (usually)
Assault or military rifle is anything painted black or with a "handle"
Automatic can be applied to anything because they are "automatically dangerous"
They dont care if it is true as long as it sounds cool to the editor....
I bet some or all were stolen and swapped for meth and/ or some dodgy gang affiliate FAL holder sold or swapped some or all for cash or meth.
One of the retarded things about our license system is the issuing of FAL's to gang members and their families.
But at the same time there are probably hundreds of these caches around the country and yet we don't see P fueled shooting rampages.
None of these are Military issue models as far as I can see and unlikely to be full auto. Stolen e-cat and modified a-cat, for sure. NO M16s or issue AKMs/AK47. Another great excuse to try to end legal ownership in NZ.
Well! That got a bite!:D
