Thread: Mexican stand off......... again 😉

Looking for a new scope to guide the way for me new 7mmsaum from 10m to 1000m.
Im a bushnell man and have a pass to buy what ive always wanted a elite 6500 2.5-16x42.
But........ it has a contender well two actually the line up is

Bushell 6500 2.5-16x42
Bushnell 4500 4-16x42
Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40

The 6500 wins magnification hands down but.
For those of you that have used them whats your thoughts and does anyone know the maximum elevation on them ?

Zeiss HD5 3-15x42 with Plex and lockable turrets above any of those options and you can get from Giles @ tihape sports for 1500. Tell him Tim from Taupo sent you.

Rain Guard is a BIG plus for the Bushnells!

+1 for the HD5 3-15x42, given your $budget. But be patient and sttttreeetch the $ a tad & you'll get a 2nd hand VX6 for $1600 - 1800. Another option for your budget would be a Swaro Z3 4-12x50 but probably limit you to 750 - 800 yrds. Personally I think that's probably a realistic range for a SAUM on large game animals anyways.

I used to own a elite 6500 4.5-30 and I now own a vx6 3-18. There is no comparison, the vx6 is way better. If it was me I'd wait a few months for the new vx6 to come out and then buy one of the current model second hand
