I am going to perminantly fit the suppressor via my mig welder so that the finished length of the barrel will be 10 inches ish depending on the suppressor length.
22 is a pos single shot and this is a trial, so I can have a nice quiet suppressed rifle that dosent catch on the bush and brush while its over my shoulder
Ahhh.... So you are going poaching lol?
Nah a 22 is no good for poaching, this is for work and shooting wild cats without having to lug around a long awkward 22 that no matter how long the barrel is the velocity is subsonic. So why not have it short and quiet while still being legal. I think it's win win
The day I'm Alloud to hunt with a pistol 22 ill get one
Till then I'm bound to 762mm
Time to start lobbying PNZ about handgun hunting
gah too hard.
i cant hit shit with a pistol anyway
Cool idea Bill, I like it.
You could drill/pin the suppressor on and then spot weld over the pin holes. This would be a tidy way of doing it without over heating the barrel.
kj
If you could hunt with a pistol legally it would almost be worth having pig dogs.... Almost

my welds resemble a turkey perch i dont think over penetration is going to be an issue
the pinning type of attachment -ala muzzlebreak type did cross my mind but i think a shallow weld on the back of the supp joining it to the barrel will suffice that and some lock tight should do it
all I want is a convincingly over the top amount of weld to asure anyone looking at it that that is isnt going to come off even if someone trys really hard
I have one Bill, but still use it, would swap it for a cheep aluminim one if you have one of those kicking around
Yes a hand gun in a small back pack, every pig hunters dream
yea mate ill do you a swap, I have only what I would call a nice 22 suppressor but that is only a win for you.
what kind is it? so I can pull a pic up and see what your looking at?
I have no idea, i dont think it has any stamping, springs and washers inside it, not even sure of thread, it fits my jw15 i will try take a pic later today for you
Mine is a worth nothing type i think, i was given it 17 years ago , see if someone else has a cheepy for me to give away and keep your good one
or i could flick you some coin as well
Handgun hunting would be cool but then how many inexperienced shooters would try to play the big hero and buy a 500 S&W as their first hunting handgun
What would be a good round to knock a pig over at point blank to say 15feet or so? Purely out of interest
45apc if you want sub sonic
Otherwise what ever comes up the cheapest almost anything works at 15 yards
In a pistol? .357 mag would do it. Probably even a .38 if you could get a good shot in. My dad use to smoke pigs with his ToZ so I can't see how a pistol of anything larger that .25ACP would be bad.
160mm long, lots of tiny dings and shows its age
