    Moisture in the gun safe

After peoples solutions for dealing with gun safe moisture.

Currently I use two damp rid pottles, problem is sometimes they spill and its corrosive shit, have heard of a small heating bar which can be mounted in a safe but dont know anyone who has used one.

    Suggestions??

I just fixed up a 60w bulb and left it on, bulb lasts a couple of months, just enough heat generated to keep moisture at bay.

Reloaders sell wee remington dehumififiers that you plug into wall when they change colour and say they are full...

You can actually get them on TM for 1/3 the price.....

I used to have bad moisture issues till i got one of these... I mean hell I live on the STH islands westcoast and right beside the sea for god sake!!!

    NEVER HAVE I SINCE !!!!!

MINI RE-CHARGABLE DEHUMIDIFIER | Trade Me

    HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

So once it's charged you just leaving it hanging in the safe until the blue indicator comes on showing it's full ? Has the battery ever run out though ?

No battery... You plug her in to heat up and evapourate the moisture out the thing... Doesnt actually run on power

I've got a small bar wardrobe heater in my safe. I think it's approx 35W.

Keeps the safe just warm enough to keep moisture out.

Try the welding supplies shops...stick welding electrodes(rods) need to be keped dry and warm or they are shit to use... The have small electronic warmers, we have one ar work that plugs into the wall and lightly warms the cubbard.. simple and effective, have no idea what they cost tho.

I had one of the Remington things you mention Baldbob but I found it to be a piece of shit, always needed 'recharging'.

May try the lightbulb trick, I guess the lower it is in the safe the better

    Hi Guys,
We have a range of similar products on the way and cheaper probably. 3 different sizes and reusable, simply put in the oven when the disc changes colour. Will put them on our website when they arrive in the next week or two. Cheers Julian
