Agree it would be nice if it was a factory option rather than an exorbitantly priced hard to obtain aftermarket part, it would also be nice if there was some more aftermarket hunter stocks available in NZ, I found the factory mini stock overly chunky and the only other offerings in NZ were chassis type stocks. These 2 things killed the mini for me, I have gone back to a 1500 action with a 1:8 twist barrel that was cheaper than the mini and so much nicer to carry with the flush floor mag, the ability to cheaply source a 10 round aftermarket mag and bottom metal cheaply hasn't even been a consideration but if I ever wanted 1 they are available.

Just wondering what the benefit of a floor plate is vs a magazine?

Tikkas are one of the most popular firearms available and they come with magazines and I have never seen anyone on here comment (someone might have) that they would rather they have a floor plate.
For a lot of the people buying these rifles a floor plate wouldn't be viable. Most of the people I know who have them need detachable mags for high volume shooting and it takes about 5 minutes to turn a standard mag into one that sits flush and doesn't dig into your back.

Be stoked if they made a 5, the 10 is a bit long and goofy

seconding the idea of better stocks being available, there's always a $1k carbon option though

@TLB The Howa Mini mag release is not ideal, so accidental mag releases were common. The protruding mag also makes the rifle uncomfortable or awkward to carry. Flush mount Mags or Floor Plates cured this.

Think the main problem is the action doesn't have feed lips machined into the base. The aftermarket hinged floor plate has nylon feed lips incorporated.

    Yeah fair enough.
I guess I'm a bit rough but side cutters and a small file fixed the mag release or you can buy an aftermarket one and less than 5 mins makes a flush mag that doesn't dig into your back. Think someone was selling them too.
