About LinkBacksMax range probably 25 yards? Using Falcon No.2 shot 40 gram. Had no trouble knocking rabbits over at that range and in. Mostly shooting around scrub. Spotlighting and twilight shooting for fun. Found there was no functional differance between that and my 28" barreled Maverick, except the short barrel was handier and it was nice having a couple more rounds in the tube. The Gun City 22" 870 has a choked barrel. Would be a good compromise if you wanted a little more range and a handier gun. But I just use a .22 if I want more range.
