What's the most accurate out the box sporter rifle in 300 WSM? Ive got a hankering for one & can't be arsed with building a custom one so considering my options. Looking at Tikka T3, Winchester m70 extreme & maybe Sako 85 finnlight. Any experiences with these or any others worth considering? Really just want a mid range rifle in 300 WSM & will feed projectiles at the heavier end of the scale such as Berger VLD's, Amax's etc if the rifle agrees.

ive a got a tikka t3 laminate 300wsm. Shoots 168 amax .5MOA, didnt shoot 180 grain accubonds better than 1MOA. Mag space is an issue with 208 AMAXS but havent devoloped a load for them yet, will probably have to single feed unless i can bring myself to modify the rather expensive magazine.
T3 - should be easy with long action magazine & bolt stop replacement
Winchester M70 - I gather internal mag box length is 3" instead of 2.8" like most
Sako 85 - No freakn idea on mag length
probably need to check with an OAL case gauge & check a rifle out to see how restrictive the mag boxes are on seating depth.
if you can find a Winchester Extreme Weather Mod 70 in 300WSM at the reduced price of $1499 at one of the H&F stores, grab it. Other wise a T3 Lite would be the runner up. Based on owning both.

I have one in m70 extreme winny and it has been exceptionally good, i cloned it off a mates set up. Slightly more heavy but good due to boot, the finish is exceptional and its a high quality work horse. The mauser claw type extractor is also really cool and reliable when comming to control feeding
