Moultrie M - series game cameras....Anybody else having issues with these?

I purchased one of these from "that"H & F store in November 2018.......well before the ChCH issue and the flow on before anybody asks why.

It caused me endless problems with turning it self off despite charged batteries. Finally earlier this year it turned itself off for good. Back to that store who supplied a M8000 as a replacement as the earlier model had been discontinued.

Same series of problems again despite being on charged batteries and even a 12 volt battery running through a 12 volt dc -dc Buck-Boost Converter.. A link if you don't know what they are. https://tinyurl.com/nm4lbva The output from this converter is a steady 12.23 volt whereas the output from 8 1.5 volt aaa cells starts at about 12.3x volts and drops down to diddley squat.

Finally the replacement Moultrie turned it self off permanently so another trip to that store and on to camera #3.

As this is such a bad performance from the Moultrie M 8* ( 3 in less than 12 months) series, I am curious if I am just unlucky with getting "Monday" cameras or if others have issue with their Moultrie M8* series.

Iv had a few of their cams. They were good for a couple of years then all of them died. It seems corrosion of the terminals in the battery compartment was the culprit. i had a good run with ltl acorn but the last couple Iv had from them are just crap. I sent one back, cost $35 to ship it, took 6 months before it came back and its still useless. Iv got a couple of brownings and some bolycams off @Sarvo that are going ok so far

Not surprised that a game-cam costing a few hundred bucks shat itself after a year or two.

Bit like buying a vacuum cleaner for $20 and being dissatisfied with its performance. So you go back to the salesman and go "dude, this vacuum cleaner sucks". And the salesman goes "yeah, so what's the problem?"...buddum tish.

HOWEVER, the subject of this thread is that in less than 12 months, three cameras, each valued at $400 ( By the retailer) have had to be consecutively installed to carry out a task .

Does that sound like an issue?

Sounds like a cheap piece of shit. Have you asked for a refund? I've had good luck with getting refunds from H&F stores. Sometimes it's taken a bit of effort - other times, not so much.
