Just wondering if it'd be safe/usable if I was to drill and tap a barrel on a single shot shotty for a rail? Of course making sure there's nothing like a bit of screw sticking in the barrel.

that dosent sound at all wise
No go then, Thanks Bill
We tried to suppress a single shot one. Drilled heaps holes in barrel and homemade suppresser. So with holes in the barrel it still shot ok.
Just made it three times louder than previously. Like really really loud... Ha ha rubbish tin material
Drilling down the other end further could be a bit dodgy due to possible barrel splitting under pressure. You give it a weak point .. and away it goes
I have a factory rail for my Berretta that I had to import as Beretta NZ didn't know they existed..
I ll be trying a scope on it this duck shooting season for fun and to pee off the guys ... ha ha
Quick release mounting so take it off in 2 seconds if no good.
Guys in USA use scopes on them quite often now. We ll see how it goes.
We have some Shotgun barrel Tri-Rail Mounts if interested.
How do they work and how much are they?
Not quite what I'm looking for
Just weld it on toby 😜

Anyone got a steel rail? :D attack it with the arc welder aye spud!
I don't know what your trying to do, but I use a small rail say 50mm long which is like on top or a ring. there about $35.00.
I mount a torch on a scope and torch on the magazine tube of a shotgun. it must be close to fitting a single barrel. there about an inch ring size. if no rib it might work.
I want to mount a scope to it somehow, sorry should have made this clear
One thing I have found is the scope needs to hanging way out over the stock towards your face.
Tape the scope to make sure you have enough room plus eye relief first before committing to any thing
I ll post a pic in a minute to show you what I mean I have scope here I bought from EBF that I can fit quickly as a trial
Five Minutes ...............................
I have a 2x pistol scope (long eye relief) you could mount way forward?
If there is a gunsmith near you he could sweat a quarter rib on it to mount a rail?
I don't know of any gunsmith near by, Don't really want to spend too much on it or I'll end up spending more then the guns worth.
This particular scope is actually quite ideal as its 1-4 and can be used with two eyes open It may have to stay right where it is . That went on there like way too easy ,,
I do have a red dot aim point that I was going to use .
I'm bad and tend to shoot my shottee like a rifle one eye closed most times and always have for many years
Still seems to drop most stuff it gets pointed at .
Few quick pics for you .. Long hang out over the stock. Be hard to get a short red dot to work possibly. ?? That eye relief there is perfect for me to grab it and have instant acquisition.

Looks good Happy
Will do when it gets here
Good luck shooting....
The piss will be taken out of ypu good and proper..
Why? I doubt a 9mm will boot that much
Na will be all good for that toby. Those things on trademe look good I will probably buy some for a play.
Using a scope for shotgun shooting e.g flying objects is wiite counter productive
If you can insert a series of washers inline the rest of the shotguns barrel would act as a suppressor making it a pleasant little toy
All you need is a length of tubing that fits inside your 12ga bore as close to the bore it's self as practice
Then just washers that fit with a 11mm hole in them,
Then just washer/spacer/washer/spacer to your hearts content
If bullets don't stabilise (which I'm thinking is likely seeing as there is no rifeling) then you will just be limited in range
I'll when it gets here but I have a few ideas in mind. I reckon weldimg a steel rail would work I would just have to do bits at a time so it doesnt get hot
If your going to dedicate it to the 9mm would it not be fine to drill/tap as the 12g chamber wont be dealing with much pressure?? just a thought
Thats not a bad call, you could go through the barrel into the 9mm insert and secure it in position, how do you extract the 9mm cases?
the extraction is stupid, Depending on if the gun extracts or ejects, the insert Will either pop out and I'll have to stop it with my hand or it will come out enough to grab then I have to turn it up side down and hope it either falls out like I saw on the video or make a little ram rod. That side of things is fiditgy
If you look at the R22 dvd you will see the shooter for Simon Lawn using a Benelli with a Burris scope.
