On the topic of hot calibres eg Creedmoor necked down here is an experience of mine.
About 40 years ago a gunsmith mate made up this wildcat.
I cannot remember all the detail eg barrel source (maybe ex machine gun, I don't know).
He didn't have a chronograph (they were very rare back then) so no idea of the velocities.
No idea of powder (there was a lot of strange unidentified ex military stuff still around then) or how much.
Accuracy was abysmal with some projectiles maybe not making it to the target.
I think he got around 200 rounds before the barrel was toast and became a tomato stake. Maybe overbore?
