    My cleaning patches

Hi all. I thought I'd share with you all what I use for cleaning patches and general cleaning and oiling. I find the store bought roll of cleaning cloth rolls to leave lint in and over my guns but this stuff I bought from Clearance Shed now Happy Jacks to do a much better job and lint free, at $10 per roll it works out to be more expensive than the store bought rolls but I hate lint.

Your right about the lint on those rolls of cleaning cloth with the red line through it. Those type of cloths have been around since the late 70's when i started hunting - the red line a guide to cut for the 303 rifles from years gone by!. Surprised those rolls were not made from an 'improved' material in this day and age?? Otherwise like you are currently using and pre cut cloth pieces from other manufactures are the options but more expensive especially if you shoot alot!

I just chop up plain flannelette sheets I scored from the m-in-law when she died. Work mint and you can make the exact right size.

I use fragrance free wet wipes
    $2 a packet.
Take them out of the packaging and dry them for a couple of weeks
You then cut them into whatever sized patches you need
They tend to pack down well on a PH jaghead

Have been using them for years

Well used flannelette sheets are my go to as well. I get them from the Op Shop, couple of bucks each. Great not only for firearms, but for putting finish on wood and other such things.

Used to be good, find many of them today more like cotton than flannelette.

There is Nothing more annoying than looking down a nice shiny barrel, only to see a thread of moisture absorbing cotton adhered to the wall.
Don't get me wrong I use 4 x4 roll as well, but for the perfect clean it's Toilet paper all the way.
