    Another thing for when I mount the adaptor is I dont use tape as I dont want a sticky mess on my scope if I take the tape off. What I use is cut lengths of about 20mm wide bicycle tube. You can just add more If you need it to be thicker. Ive found 2 pieces has bee enough so far.
