I am sure if asked he would make more, or I could help him out to get them done, dress them out nicely skin the inside so you don't see the workings.

Mcdee! have you bought one yet???
Im (reluctantly) in the UK, and am in the process of clearing out storage we're paying dead money for... This includes my e cat safe...
It started life as an ATM safe... so this doesnt sit upright, it sits longways along the floor - this may not suit, but the checking officer was more than happy to label it as a safe, rather than a locking cabinet.
I have modified it, to stretch 1.5 m long, and fitted some lined pine 4x2 s for holding the rifles in place..

PM me if need be and can discuss...

Ill be in Auckland from 15th Feb for 12 days - it needs a new home!!!!

Otherwise I'll have to list it on TM - I hate to sell it as it suited me what I need, but no one has space to store it for me... esp with E cat requirements

Ill dig out some photos if I can find any...

I built a two gun E cat safe out of RSJ. It had a 5 lever mortice dead lock welded into the top on a plate, that locked it and at the bottom end a plate was welded to it, with long bolts that could be bolted through a floor joist or set into a concrete floor. a small hole for a wall fitted bolt completed the securing of it.
From memory it was 6 mil thick. Thats the minimum ( then ) Firearms had to be lowered into it from the top so it was a bit of a pain. But it cost me FA to make and passed vetting.

Don't fuck about with hinges. Just use a lift out door, cut out of the side, that has a lip holding it at the sides and bottom and the bolt of the lock holding it at the top.

If anyone else is interested... reluctant selling of my E Cat safe

Hoping you can find time during the week to look, as I will be flying out Monday coming.

Im on 022 475 1156 - Jamie... call and we'll sort out a time to view. Located in Pakuranga / Botany area...

    Jamie

as per photos, at the moment, its on its end, though normally sits longways... not ideal but ex ATM security, and the proper twin dial Chubb locks, cant complain...
1.5 m long, about 600 wide and high... estimate 250 -300 kg... You'll have to sort transport by Sunday 26th please.
