    Need some scope measurement info

I am trying to set up my rifle with the scope mounted as low as I can get it .
Most of my scopes have the problem of the eye piece being to large in diameter and they cause the bolt to foul on the scope when mounted as low as I want .
I have just tried an old Leupold 6 power scope that I had in the cupboard and it is a perfect fit .
The outer diameter of the scope eye piece is 39.45 mm .
My question is does anyone know or can someone measure for me what the outer diameter of a modern Leupold scope is ( 2.5 - 8 , 3 - 9 and 3.5 - 10 )
    Also does anyone have a Swaro Z3 3 - 9
I have a feeling that the modern scopes may be a bit bigger and will not fit for what I want .

Shite man, I just reread your post, I measured the objective lens not the ocular one, hang on a minute.

    Vx3 40 .08 so say 40mm
    Vx111 39.8 mm
    so pretty much the same.

Just so there is no confusion , I'm talking about the end of the scope closest to your eye , not the front lense over the barrel .
For example my Meopta scope measures 45.74 mm diameter of the power change ring which is the widest part .
The old leupold just clears the bolt by a fraction and is the perfect height for eye alignment .
I may end up using it , but would prefer a newer scope because its a bit beaten up.

    That was good advice .
After a bit of searching I've found what I was looking for . I never realised that they put out pdf files of the scopes specs .
    It looks like I have a few options of a few different brands , at the moment I'm leaning towards a Swarovski Z3 3 - 9 .
    Does anyone have one ?
I'd be interested in knowing what their opinion is of it ?
