    new 17wsm bolt action

I will say that i am a closet fan. Great performance without reloading but bugger all rifles to pick from and some of them didn't shoot that well. Plus some of the ammo didn't always shoot that well.
Not necessarily an issue is the rifles weren't always that cheap especially compared to its next equivalent the 17 Hornet.
Winchester has brought one out early this year in their expert range so bugger all reviews yet. Not a classical design so some won't like it.
Initial prices in aussie are 850ish so not too bad really as long as it shoots well.
    I would budget for one....eventually.

The Scot in me recoils at the idea of $1.40 per round for rimfire, even special rimfire. Guess I'm still bogged down in last century.

Looks nice. My next purchase will be a 17hmr as we have a great rabbit spot.

Last time there we had the debate about 22lr vs 17hmr cost per round. Basically $0.50 vs $1 per round.

Mate with the hmr shoots shit load more rabbits at longer distance and less misses than me and other mates so yer cost per rabbit we reckoned was cheaper with hmr.
    Carbine and erniec like this.

I would agree with that. We got an Rossi last year, $349 brand new. So far has reached out and touched (and killed) bunnies out to 180m.

You could always save up for one of these - Trouble is that quality comes at a cost
