    I really don't get the paranoia over the register? I've already got a licence so its pretty safe to assume I have a firearm. the police and gov have my licence details.

    but somehow me saying yes, I own guns is a step too far?

    it's like saying that having a drivers licence is fine but having to register your car is some sort of orwellian nightmare.
