I'm shooting the 162 A-Max in 7Mag and it is a good bullet. Can't help with the 30. Unless your hunting off a quad a big heavy gun is going to eventually fuck you off. Same goes for an over scoped setup.

None.
Might be a bit nicer to shoot and possibly easier to tune but weight won't make it a shooter.
Have you read about how light some of the local hunting "gurus" are building big guns?

Just out of curiosity what does one of them monter terminator brakes weigh?

terry, i don't have enough experience with optics for those kind of distances to give you an informed answer.
in general, I'd say shoot/practice until you are beyond the capabilities of your kit, and THEN upgrade...

speak to kiwigreg, brads, lr or some of the other long-range guys on here, but be prepared to spend scary money :D
