So what barrel have you gone for??
I have a tikka T3 with a Hardy carbon wrapped barrel and Senator stock and a Blazer 93 with a carbon wrapped barrel just can't decide which one to keep yet.

@camo wsm So you are going the full 40 degree model then? Thought about the 30 degree improved version instead which lessens your chances of donuts and the likes? Cool cartridges like the 6.5 Creed and 6.5x47L all use a 30 degree shoulder....must be some good reasoning for that.

If you go for a carbon wrapped barrel read this article.

    Carbon Fiber Properties-Heat Conductivity

There are different sorts of carbon fibre. Plain old carbon fibre in epoxy is a very poor thermal conductivity. The Proof research barrels are one of the fancy pyrolytic Carbon fibre with the really good thermal conductivity.

If you have gone for the carbon wrapped don't expect to save weight as I saved a whole 80grams on mine.

Minimal weight savings and they don't fit that well in slim hunters edge type stocks

The Proof Research ones I have are plenty lighter than even a #3 profile Shillen.

Yes the profile can be a PIA with the slimmer stocks but its still able to be fitted even in a Hunters Edge.

On a slim stock you usually end up with a sharp edge along the barrel channel, I don't like it but that's just me.
