    New S&B scope

This looks like a pretty decent scope for hunting from them

And mil dots and a whole lot of other reticles. Range finders have meant that people have mostly forgotten how to do it.

I believe the tasco 30-30 reticle was first to market the idea...early 80s if not late 70s

Thanks for that link @littlemorepork. So, it was a Herr Docter who gave his name to the linecof scopes rather than a PhD engineer as you often see in German companies. Interesting they were a subsidiary of Zeiss.

Top turret is too high to my taste . The Swarovski z5 has still my preference.

    S + B - highly underrated!
Others big brands over here have just the better marketing!

S&B scopes market themselves. But they do have an excellent catalogue and website.

My thoughts are that they could have done more with a first focal plane reticle , like thick 0.2 mRad crosshairs for use at 3-6x outside the first or second mildot then extra fine inside that for use at 18x. Mildot ranging with 2FP will always be dodgy.

Then they need those real flat compact turrets, possibly with a non-illumination option for simplicity. The elevation turret looks logical but only for range/ target shooting. For hunting you can memorise the comeups in mRad out to 400m .

Otherwise it looks like a great scope, an upgrade on the klassik 3-12.

Bagheera, what do you mean by market themselves?
