Mate they come from the same factory!

    New Sig has better turrets.

    But that’s it...

I know but buy once cry once............perhaps. Couple of the guys I regularly shoot with have HMR14's with Mk5's and they are simply awesome

Its all dependent on budget as per usual. I recently went through this exercise and ended up with a used Athlon ARES 4.5-27x50 (thanks The Claw) and its a very decent scope for the money. I've had a Swaro Z5 3-18 and a Leupold VX5 HD 3-15x44 and while the glass is not quite the same as these its not greatly inferior either . . . at least on a par with my Sightron S111 8-32x56. The scope has a really well through out design package and is well executed mechanically. Guarantee - well who will know . . .

A lot to choose from. Kahles scopes are reasonably priced high end match scopes. March are compact, light and high mag for between $3500-$4500

    Budget?Type of shooting?
From my understanding, scope is a long term investment.

I had a Sig Tango4 and it’s glass was shocking, I’m not normally a glass snob at all but the Tango4 was terrible.

Great features on the scope, i could’ve just had a bad one, but certainly look through one before buying.

I put a vs 5 on my cm hmr14 used mostly for hunting with CDs system it's the nuts only mistake I should have got the model with with wind plex instead of duplex better than the vortex I had on before in a few areas dialling is the major benefit for me 400 yes set away you go I've confirmed ranges out to 600 not that the vortex was bad
