    New scope time, burris?

    Hi all
Looking to upgrade rifle scope, currently have the leupold vx3i 4.5-14x40 and cannot fault it for what it is. I'm looking for something with a little more zoomies and elevation dial though. Wondering about the Burris line of scopes, has anyone any experience with these?
The reason I have not upgraded yet is because the system is have works perfectly and even with the small field of view offered by the 40mm lense I am able to get straight back on what ever shoot at for follow up shots, i have dropped my rifle in a creek bed and the rifle bounced on rocks with scope down, off a kitchen counter when baggy tail dog caught the barrel end and the zero never altered.

How many people that have the Burris scopes have dropped them and how much of a knock can they take before the zero is affected? I don't care about paints scratches or anything, just interested in the stability of the scope as a whole.
    Cheers

I run quite a few scopes of both brands and I'm pretty heavy on use. Have been very happy with how both handle shocks but that also comes down to quality mounts as well. Warranty on both is superb but probably a faster turn around from Burris who tend to replace rather than repair.

After Thars comprehensive review, I bought a 3-15 burris hd for my 270. I own, Leupy Vx5 a few Kahles and tbh, the Burris tracks well, good eye relief is crisp optically and the warranty is excellent. I'm looking at the 2-10 burris for a short barrel 308 over the gold ring.

The objective lens diameter has very little to do with the FOV. It's the ocular lens that matters here.

I have a burris 30mm tube Veracity 2-10 which I'm really happy with.
I don't like the size or weight and think the rifle would look much better with a little 2-8x32 scope but every time I lift it up to my eye use it I get over the weight and size very quickly. Just easy to look though particularly into deep shadow.
The 1" tube signature HD is 4.5oz lighter and almost 2" shorter but looses in the eye relief and exit pupil size.

I have a couple of the old FF2 with 30mm tubes and capped turrets and they have been solid but I haven’t abused them either. I have 5 XTRIIs and they have been a tough scope. I’ve dropped a couple accidentally and they’ve held zero just fine and all of them track like they’re supposed to.

Size: 712.2 KB Fullfield II. Been treated pretty badly over the years and held zero fine.
Maybe upset with me though as it seems to have rehomed itself from the .308 to the .22
