New stock
I have just fitted my old BDL 30 06 into a new Bell and Carlson Alaskan 11 stock.
Didn't take much fitting just a little sanding.
They have upward for end tip pressure points.
Anyone done this recently with these stocks?
Would the consensus be to wrap a bit of grit paper round a dowel and float it now or wait until I see what it shoots like as I guess they have these there for a reason.
Should say the barrel is a sporter weight, not the light profile mountain rifle barrel which may well need those pressure points

I would float it straight away to remove any tantrums it may have when using a bipod.
If you never intend using a bipod on this particular rifle you might get away with leaving the two pressure points there

Sounds Like a plan 7mm, it hasn't been and won't be used often off a bipod but there will of course come time and.....
