    Newbie

    Hey team,after advice on what rifle and accessories(optics.bipod etc) to go with it, I'm mostly going to be after Fallow goats and the odd Red,leaning towards a 223,any advice would be awesome cheers

    Id say 243 would be a better calibre. Heaps of good info on existing threads re rifles and accessories. Don’t cheap out on the scope and rings and you’ll be fine.

    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    It depends on if you are going to reload or not the .223 is a great cal but not for a beginner if you put deer on the list.
    I would go 6.5 Creedmoor if using factory ammo.
