Id say 243 would be a better calibre. Heaps of good info on existing threads re rifles and accessories. Don’t cheap out on the scope and rings and you’ll be fine.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

It depends on if you are going to reload or not the .223 is a great cal but not for a beginner if you put deer on the list.
I would go 6.5 Creedmoor if using factory ammo.
