Not 100% sure if these guys still ship to NZ, I've ordered from them in the past for DIP gear. They still have New Zealand as a shipping country in drop down but not sure if it's generic.

    Worth a try though.

@Bagheera I have brought DI Products out of Kinneys Shooting Supplies previously as well. They were very good to deal with.

The other option is Delta Tactical in Aussie when they have what you want in stock:

    Good site to know about.

Work in progress, few DIP bits to end up on it.

Suppressor also needed for the carbon barrel as it's a little too stumpy almost

Id be interested in your lapua results.
I wrote a big reply detailing a bunch of testing I have been doing. Then though most people would be bored by it so I deleted it. Bottom line was that the R50 shot great at 50m and 100m. The velocity consistency over a 10 shot string measured with a magnetospeed V3 was as good as anything else I have tried.

The reasons why I am not using R50 is that the accuracy at 200m wasn't as good as the Norma, SK Match and Lapua Polar Biathlon. Of course in your rifle you might get different results....

When you guy's are sorting by rim thickness etc what kind of tolerance are you aiming for?

And does the same apply for 17hmr?

    I've personally never bothered

The older genuine Brno's have a 16mm groove. I have a pair of 16mm CZ steel rings that I paid $120 for and never used; I'd sell them for $80.

If you want the best try these (formerly Hilver) in medium although probably out of your price bracket. Have used several pairs on my Brno's. The low is too low unless you have a small ocular (rear) eye piece on your scope to clear the bolt handle. Perfect for the Brno 581 auto though.

I had a Jones rimfire accuracy gauge and gave up on gauging for rim thickness years ago as I never noticed a difference in several Anschutz and Feinwerkbau target rifles. Have always had the best groups with Lapua Midas followed by Eley Tenex. Haven't tried the Midas Plus or R50 yet but plan to shortly.

Every rifle is different so gauging for rim thickness may work for you.

I'm having a "nice" 22 thing at the moment too, "nice" to me means all steel, walnut and shoots lights out. I'm still looking and thinking but found this thread very interesting, especially the list of "who's made it" and the equipment they were using.

    https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...eally-Prove-it!

IMO this is one of the toughest challenges out there for repeater hunting style .22's (an in form target rifle should be able to do it but its still a very stern test of shooting ability and discipline).

    Cheers

@Gillie what kind of accuracy are you getting at 200m? I know wind will play a huge factor, but what is the best groups you can reliably shoot?
Whilst my 22 is good under 100m once I get out to 150-200m it's basically shooting 200mm groups.

@Beetroot, when I play my part and in good conditions i can shoot sub MOA at 200m (so groups come about 50mm or just under) but only just. In my sako quad i think the Norma and Lapua Polar Biathlon shot 10 shot groups that were just over MOA at 200m, SK Match and R50 shot about 1.5MOA 10 shot groups and the Eley black came in a little over 2MOA.

For me though i am suffering from velocity fliers and vertical strung groups at longer ranges. I have changes ammunition batches though and those velocity fliers seem more prevalent in my current batch of Norma.

I have a Mauser 107 that shoots right at MOA or just over at 200m with the Lapua Polar Biathlon - peeved me off because its a cheap little basic 22LR and it shoots awesome - my Sako quad is easier to shoot well and has a vastly better scope on it but that little Mauser is still there accuracy wise.

@Nibblet I am sorting rim thickness in 0.01mm increments and yes in my stupid, anal, pedantic mind i am seeing a justified improvement in accuracy with my rifle. As 10-Ring mentioned you may or may not see an improvement with yours. Also yes the same potential improvement would be seen with a 17hmr as both cartridges are head-spaced off the rim.

The Pobjeda target looks like "the shit" (or maybe just shit).

Has anyone realised that this is a 2011 thread?
