Tasbay, the model is a 150 so that makes it Gen2. Is $500 still a good price?

Hi kokako, yep you are right. The 160 was the gen3 unit. So the one I fixed up was the 150. I don`t remember the g3 stamped on the side though. Mind you it was a few years ago now. They were imported by a Woman running a business called Night Vision New Zealand.
Bugger me I just remembered I have a catalog from her & found it!!. Its down as the Night Enforcer (scary stuff) 150 & 160.
160 is Gen3 and 150 is Gen2 U.S
Blurb: Generation2 . the NE 150 incorperates an easy to ues Ergonomic design with rugged construction. This product is offered with a high - quality, low cost Gen2 intensifier tube and has min of 36 lp/mm resolution.
SAR- search and rescue had a bulk deal in about 2000 ( going by Catalog date) and they paid about $4800 per unit. I remember they were shit against what I had back then and I had words with the local SAR head about it. He said they only had a short time to decide and went with it without talking to me, Hmmm that figures.
Now to your question do I think its worth $500. They had a bad reputation for breaking down and the ITT tubes were not that good. ITT still hasn`t the best reputation for U.S tubes but that comes down to who you talk to. I had a nice Gen3 ITT tube for a while till it died with about 100 hours on the clock,3rd set of batteries and not a nice feeling knowing you couldn`t replace it. The 150`s picture was crap in the 2 units I have used and they had plastic lenses from memory. You don`t get much in the way of NV for $500, though I did sell a PVS-7a U.S gen2 a few months ago for $750 so yes I geuss its worth that. Looks in good outside condition. Just don`t get on my back if its a shitter OK!!
Let me know how you get on with it.
Thanks for the info, I think I will give it a miss.
Thanks
Craig
