Thanks for the reply. Good to hear from someone that has put it to the test. Struggled to find much online about them at all. Given that people here are all saying NS sell decent cheap scopes I will go ahead and buy one.

The scope in question is entirely suitable for a .22 rifle , budget-wise and in use.
A $2000 dollar scope on the same rifle will not be ten times better than the Nikko-Stirling , but will be a huge over-capitilisation and a waste of your hard-earned cash.

Arced - the Panamax sounds good but I wouldn't rule out the other Nikkos for your field 22.
Alot of sound efficient little rimfire models there starting with the mountmasters - then on to Airking as noted. Have had heaps of them come thru the closet and they will all do this job reliably and well. Have a chat with @timattalon above, then go to a shop and look through a few.
