Cool Nikon monarch 3 6-24×50 BDC my experience

So I've had my 270WSM for a while now and since owning it I've had a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14 x40 cds mounted in Talleys rimgs.
I've taken a few deer with it at varying distances with no trouble but at times been left a little wanting in the zoom department (my eyes aren't the greatest).
I would have loved to upgrade to something like a zeiss 5-25×50 zero stop scope but alas the minister for war and finance decreed that was not within the budget constraints unless I was willing to forego a few hunting trips I had already booked in.....
Then as it happens fate smiled (or laughed.....not sure yet) upon me, I came across a brand new in box Nikon Monarch 3 6-24×50 on the greedy yellow site for $600.
I did a bit of research and was happy to take risk on it, I sold my trusty VX3 and Talleys to apease the fore mentioned minister and set to work fitting the Monarch inyo a new set of Talleys.
I went to the range yesterday to do some load developement and sighting and do far so good, I'm happy with the clarity and it's very bright compared t my VX3 granted this was in late afternoon sun so plenty of light around.
I'm not sure how I ferl about the 1/8th inch click value and I'll probably stick to dialing over using the BDC reticle but I think I'm pretty pleased with it so far.
I'll make up some more ronds and validate the scope out further in the next week before I head away for a hunt to try it out on some deer.
Anyone else had any experience with these scopes ? all the reviews I've read seem to give them a pretty good rap.

Have a Monarch 3 4-16x50 side focus. Glass has similar clarity and brightness compared to my Bushnell Elite, Weaver Grand Slam, and Zeiss Conquest. Eye relief is more than adequate on a 308. Downside is the tunnel vision effect seems to be the worst out of all scopes at this price point.

I've got a basic Nikon Bushmaster II 3-9x40. It's super clear. I arsed up in a rocky creek a while ago; drowned the rifle and scope and it hit the bottom reasonably hard. I haven't checked the sighting yet but no sign of fogging from a complete dunking. It is much clearer and easier to acquire a view through it than my Redfield Revolution 3-9. I want to get another one but don't want it stuck in Auck with NZ Post not delivering.

Mines good. Better glass than my old vx freedom, not as good as the z5. Good bang for your buck. happy with mine.

Got a 4-16 on my wee 223. Find it works well. Not worried about low light, we can change that.

I just attached a Nikon PROSTAFF 5 4-16x42 on my HMR, hoping to be able to reach out to the 300 yard mark for those magpies.

It's a shame Nikon is no longer going to make rifle scopes.
