Another ammo company has jumped on the scene with killer deals on brass .223. Only FMJ so far. Hopefully some soft points as well.

So what is the difference with regard to usage, performance and effects on chamber between steel and brass? One of the does in Auckland told me steel wasn't good for the chamber, what's that about?
Sent from my workbench

Don't hold me on this but i'm pretty sure that it is very rough on extractors and can sometimes be more prone to getting jammed in the chamber due to it being a lot harder than brass

I am pretty sure that is bollocks

Steel doesn't expand as much as brass when heated, so will contract away from the chamber less after firing.
-
Wasn't the brass case the same price when available anyway?

$49 for 50 brass , I think the steel was slightly cheeper . Prefer to shoot a couple of boxes and keep the brass myself .

steel was 40% cheaper and what brass casings left over that you could find + pick up weren't worth the extra $
-
Ah ok,prices I remember seeing were around $45 pkt for both types but that was when there was virtually none of either around.
