    Noise Sharing Devices.

Ok, so I've been bullied into a brake in order to ensure that that seething mass known as @TimeRider kicks my butt even more this year. So a T3 looks like it will be the go. How do you line them up? Do they get threaded and trimmed to line up with the threading on the rifle? Or shimmed, or on a boss that the break gets fixed to?

Muzzle brakes 101 for complete noobs!

Well when I was teaching myself to shoot using a suppressed 22lr with 36gr subs I found myself in the next Bay to a 338 Lapua Magnum sporting a brake. So I had to contend with the noise, blast and chest thumping at random unpredictable moments. Certainly taught me to concentrate on what I was doing. Don't think it did me any harm. Made sure I had earplugs and earmuffs.

When TR jumps on the scales the dial just about spins backwards so i think the T3 would be the wise choice.

Greystone guns near leeston did a real nice job of timing mine on existing threads, tapered it to match the barrel and bead blasted the finish too. I bought my T2 directly from Greg first but I saw that greystone can supply them too

I intend to. But it still doesn't answer the how it's done question. That is the main thing for my curious mind.

In my simple mind I figured it was the same as a suppressor, get barrel threaded and locktite a brake on and go make loud noises
