    Norinco JW103 7.62x36

Thinking about getting a bush bashing rifle and something for the boy to use in a few years time, do these rifles fit the bill for Reds and Fallow up to 100m.
Whats the recoil like on them, i want a 6.5x55 but to be honest most people want to much for second hand guns.

Mate has one and it was grouping 2" at 50m. Not very good. Could be due to gun city scope. I didnt think it boots much. I would just wait for the right 6.5 to turn up on trademe. I watched for months before I got mine and it groups easy under a inch at 100 so may be better for what you want.

I seen that a while ago now. pretty cool but from shooting both of your choices I personally prefer the 6.5.

for the extra cost to step up to a howa, I think in the long run it will cost you less. and when you sell it you will get a greater % of your dollar back
unless you spicifically want a 7.62x39 Id keep looking

the thing about second hand rifles is that if you buy well and look after them they are worth the same money when you go to sell them
