    norma golden target.

So found some factory stuff for the 6.5x284 at Gunworks but can't get any details on the projectile except it's 130 grain hollow point. Anyone used this stuff? Will it be OK for hunting or strictly a target round. Google won't give me any clues either. Cheers.

    All I can find

    http://www.norma.cc/us/Products/Comp...Match-Bullets/

Looks to be an fmj from what I can see so would be unsuitable for hunting if this is the case, could be wrong though.

But where do you see its a fmj? All I can see is its a hollow point. It's a bit annoying will be used many on the range anyway but there's a few redskins running round at the minute and wouldn't mind putting one in the freezer.

Yeh exactly as listed, a match projectile - hollow point boat tail. Similar to Berger VLD except they probably only have the match grade jacket whereas Berger market hunting and target VLD with different jacket thicknesses. And of coarse you can shoot animals with Berger VLD Target but its not a good choice - presume the Norma would give similar results. ORYX is Norma's hunting projectile.

Haha, sorry blonde moment there! Yeah definitely a HP, not sure of construction though.

Can't be worst than an a-max with zero expansion control though can it?

Yea but at least with the amax it will expand. A fmj will pencil through and said animal will suffer a slow painful death

Yep, 6.5 x 55 Norma practice stuff, 140 (?) gr SMK, did the biz on Sika out to 330 yds April May this year.
Good cost effective way to get Norma brass.
