    Not bad for a cheapie

    Howa 1500 .308
    Just finished bedding a Boyds Thumbhole Stock, the results are very pleasing

    Group on the left is 3 shots, group next (right) is 4 shots and the right group was different ammo 4 shots the others are sighters
    Target is 1" grid
    Scope is 3-9 x 40 Bushnell Banner

    Yeh that works.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

    assuming thats @ 100 yrds? it looks very promising .. what powder and weights were you testing?

    Yep. 100 yards (measured) mild load of 45.5 gr AR2208 150gr Hornady interlock, the larger group was same load with 150gr Sierra spitzers (these generally shoot better with a hotter load, I have had good accuracy with 46.5gr AR2208 with these) I'm picking that less than 1/2 moa is good enough for hunting, so I probably won't dick around with other loads for this one as I have about 30 other rifles to sort out as well.

    Interlocks just shoot in any 308.
