That is weird. Can you swap front and back rings over to see if that solves it? Others will be along with thoughts.

They only have 30 MOA of elevation which is the least I have ever heard of so that might be your problem. Once mounted you will have less than 15 minutes each way (up and down). You might need to shim your mounts. Cut a coke tin into shims.

Mind boggling. This is 2022. Others scopes regularly have ~80 MOA of adjustment.

Yeah Burris has always been a bit piss poor in that respect. The 3-9 the OP removed had 50 MOA.

I have an old 6-24 Black Diamond rated at IIRC 39 MOA.
I mounted mine on an Omark. I zeroed OK at 100 yds but didn't have much adjustment left so fitted a 20 MOA rail and used Zee rings for further improvement.
I have no trouble now getting to 900 yards.

Even worse than the Burris is the older Bushnell Elite 4200 in 3-9x40, 4-16x50, 6-24x - they only have 26 MOA of total elevation adjustment (13 up or down from mechanical center). So it would not be the scope to buy if you have any thoughts of long range shooting. I had mine (4-16x) mounted in Burris Signatures with +/- inserts.

Bushnell Elite 4500 series (basically a re-furbish of the 4200) has 40 MOA of elevation adjustment. While for about the same money second hand, you could get a Bushnell 3200 5-15x40mm Tactical Mildot, and get 46 MOA of adjustment.

Thats why they have a ballistic reticle because they are not suitable for dialing once you get them zeroed.

I didn't suggest you were. I was commenting on the purpose of the configuration of the 'scope. Ballistic reticle coupled with minimal elevation adjustment.

You could hammer a felling wedge in under the Barrel, jack that Barrel up a bit.
Just use a polymer one not a steel wedge so you don't scratch the bluing.

No that would make it worse, the barrel needs to go down, maybe clamp it down into the stock and put some duct tape or a zip tie around it.
