I don't understand why anyone would want that rectile in SFP? The hold over units would only be in scale at one magnification ie. 20x
There are several applications where SFP is a better choice than FFP. It is not a one size fits all thing, horses for courses.
Where you often shoot at low magnification, several FFP reticles often are not optimal. Bush hunting is a good example. Illuminated reticle go some way toward mitigating this.
For the "static" target shooting disciplines like F Class, with known distances and known target dimensions, there is very little need for FFP.
My take is that FFP is really specific to two conditions:
- competition shooting with tight time frames where you want to hold in the reticle rather than dial, especially at multiple magnification levels
- ranging with the reticle
Even a reticle with subtentions has uses in SFP. I have a Sightron S3 with 2 MOA hashmarks at 24 power. For prone, long range shooting it is surprisingly good for both measuring target sizes and shot fall corrections.

I predominately hunt in NI bush with the occasional long shot if I break out into the tops or across a river flat or gully.
For the longer shots I like to have a retical the I can use for wind holds rather than dialing
I have owned a few high-ish power 1st focal plane scopes and they where all utterly useless at low power and low light even if Illuminated.
I now own a low powder NX8 (1-8) and it is the exact opposite.
2nd focal plane for me from now on.
BC doesn't matter, until you need to dial
I am loving the nx8 4-32 ffp. I never thought I would be into that system but I am sold. Mind you I am mainly hunting tops, normally ranges are 200-400 yards.
Ive never liked a ffp scope for hunting purposes, until recently when i was shooting in a heavy cross wind at a fallow buck, had no time to set up and dial, got all confused about the subtensions of the reticle on low power, buck ran off, thought i screwed the pooch, luckily it ran off into a clearing and stood there, had time to dial and set up on full power. And boom, buck down. Moral is if i was using a ffp scope id have been fine to use holdover. That night i was looking at new scopes. The nx8 lools like a goodun too!
The nx8 has it all..... literally IT ALL

I have a nx8 and would happily change to a SFP version.
Dont know if Rob has issues but this guy seems to
