Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Graham Henry did one years back in rodnrifle "why not the .308" its a bloody good read and as relevant today as it was in 80s when written.
unfortunately it appears you need to pay to view the article in link
mmmm I stopped buying it when it went to fully online only thing`. Just not the same as picking a mag up off the pile.
Yep, same.
Same,prefer a magazine to hold.
I also prefer reading something solid but the reality is that print is getting bloody expensive and the hysteria after March 15 saw hunting magazines withdrawn from sale by booksellers virtue signalling all added up to putting the nail in the coffin. Add to that the loss of publications and printing firms due to "covid" and the opportunities for a small circulation magazine catering to a specific market to grow via normal channels and it's not surprising it's a digital platform now.
I suspect there will be plenty more going that way or disappearing.
Havent gone near it since it went digital
Greetings Jakewire and All,
Thanks for your kind words Jakewire. I started writing short articles for our local Deerstalkers newsletter a few years back and quite enjoyed it. You build up quite a bit of knowledge as you go through life and I feel that we should at least make an attempt to pass some of it on. My short posts on this Forum and the longer articles in NZ Guns are my way of doing this.
Along with the other posts above I also lament the passing of the printed format but with Marty Henry accept that the on line magazine and forum platforms are the way of the future. In my 71 years and counting there have been some amazing changes and if we didn't go with the flow we would be hunting with Snider's. Kiwi Sapper would likely approve of this.
To Mickey Duck, I have that article on the .308 somewhere and agree that the .308 is as good as it ever was, which is pretty dam good.
Regards Grandpamac.
