Just for shit and giggles I emailed NZ Post about their policy on firearms..... No way Jose........ I suppose we all knew that, but thought I'd get actual confirmation.....

I was told by a helpful post person (on the phone) that to be aware that sending items with gun oil residue on them will be picked up by the dogs at the sorting centres especially if going through Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch...articles will be destroyed.

Virtue signalling cnuts. I understand not shipping actual firearms and ammunition but the rest is a joke. I hope they run into a safe space ans someone locks the door on them and throws the key away.

Sure bro, what’s your address again and did you want the banana flavoured or strawberry I can’t remember lol.

NZ Post, struggling to stay a float and turns business away, considering the government has propped them up using tax payers money they’d should be directed to ship parts, products etc. NZ first could be the party who pokes the bear on this one.

Apart from packaging the scope in front of them or applying for insurance how would the person on the counter know what was being sent?

With NZ Post I find the silly thing is that if I am sent firearm/reloading gear by some other courier it still all ends up in the rural delivery van with NZ Post written all over it...so if something did go wrong I wonder how NZ Post would weasel their way out.

Exactly! I wonder if they are turning down GC or H&F's sales?

According to their website, firearms parts are prohibited to send by post, but allowed by their courier service if appropriately packaged.

Yeah, but it should give you some sort of legal comeback if they fail to deliver or destroy anything you send.
