Just for shit and giggles I emailed NZ Post about their policy on firearms..... No way Jose........ I suppose we all knew that, but thought I'd get actual confirmation.....

That's good , because all I ever send are antique wood turning tools.

I was told by a helpful post person (on the phone) that to be aware that sending items with gun oil residue on them will be picked up by the dogs at the sorting centres especially if going through Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch...articles will be destroyed.
i have sent quite a few scopes, in one case the post office worker just winked and said "for a crossbow right"
There two faced arseholes, they cart firearms for more the one wholesaler, retailer.
Virtue signalling cnuts. I understand not shipping actual firearms and ammunition but the rest is a joke. I hope they run into a safe space ans someone locks the door on them and throws the key away.

Sure bro, what’s your address again and did you want the banana flavoured or strawberry I can’t remember lol.
NZ Post, struggling to stay a float and turns business away, considering the government has propped them up using tax payers money they’d should be directed to ship parts, products etc. NZ first could be the party who pokes the bear on this one.
With NZ Post I find the silly thing is that if I am sent firearm/reloading gear by some other courier it still all ends up in the rural delivery van with NZ Post written all over it...so if something did go wrong I wonder how NZ Post would weasel their way out.
According to their website, firearms parts are prohibited to send by post, but allowed by their courier service if appropriately packaged.
on this subject .... @Kiwi Sapper did you get the bipod i sent on monday ? first time ever ive been asked whats in the parcel....ive sent reloading gear , parts, scopes etc in the past no dramas....admittedly i did squeeze it in to a small bag.
i told them it was a camera tripod.......
But they would only being returning to sender because they refuse to deliver it - which their website says they will. It's easy to safely return a scope, stock, suppressor, etc. If they destroy it they are being a-holes, and it's their fault if they have failed to update their website, not the sender's.
PM on its way to you..............As for the Post Shop. Be honest, tell them it's a two legged thingie for stabilising pipes which your great Aunt Amanda, Bless her soul, left to you in her will and as you don't want it you are sending it to someone you dislike as a belated birthday present. :>)
The newspaper will assist.
Pretty sure they still do hahaha!!

I don't know how this complies with the consumer guarantees act. If you order something from overseas and you have the appropriate permit. The item is then legal, the delivery service has been paid for (you paid the shipping from overseas). How can they then refuse to deliver a legal item that you have paid them to deliver? Shouldn't you at least get a partial refund for the shipping?
Naaaa A 14 inch heavy duty "facial massager" that looks suspiciously like a horses penis, lubed and given a protective coating of gun oil and two D cell batteriy sized dog chew toys should suffice quite nicely.....And to make the point write "F_ck off NZ Post " on the "massager"
COLFO said they were trying to assist with this and were in talks with nzpost, but i have not heard anything more. Has anyone else?
