    Older, maybe vintage binoculars

My uncle whose 84 was visiting recently and he has left me a pair of
Klarten Brand binoculars, he tells me his fathers brother bought them back from WW1 but I'm not too sure if this hasn't simply become a bit of a legend with the true origin lost as it has Japan stamped into the objective side of the "bridge" between the two lens and I dunno if they are that old, maybe, maybe not

They are in a light tan coloured leather case probably pig skin from what I can find out, but maybe not. With a leather neck strap
the ocular and main focus turns and works, they are in not bad but definitely used condition.
Full marking is Klarten Coated lens on the left side looking through, with
    7x35 Field
6.5 degrees [degrees as the small o]
    No 14352
    on the right hand side
and the afore mentioned Japan at the objective end

    Any one know anything
Googled them naturally and get a couple of hits for Vintage Klarten 7x50 on ebay and that's all I can find.
    Thanks.

Funny that. I rediscovered a pair of German WWI binoculars I bought at a garage sale when I was about 11 for the princely sum of $4 bundled with a nice leather ammo belt.

    R93 and FRST like this.

The V.16 in the second photo indicates they were made 100 years ago this month.
