    Old rifles are far better shooters than most people imagine and also a challenge to shoot that give a satisfaction not found elsewhere.

    Is that a Remington 14 1/2? One of my favourite rifles, any chance of better photos and caliber please? For those in the know these are very slick guns.

    44/40 has mint bore. My model 73 [38/40] and model 92 [44/40] also have excellent bores all are great shooters.

    Thankyou sir, very nice rifle you have there, bluing wear from honest use and clean unmarred timber from being well looked after! Now, if only I could find a bolt for mine I'd have one up and running too Shall post pics of it tonight, it's an ex Canadian military version that's had a very hard life.

    That's some creamy ammo you got there (-: If it was wax lubed should still go OK.
