Original barrels had the integral locking arrangement for the bolt locking lugs as part of the barrel. Rebarreled ones (except where maybe an original barrel was sourced and used) have short adaptors fitted for the bolt locking lugs to engage and then the aftermarket barrels are simply be screwed into the adaptor. The first model 44 aside from having the smaller bolt head pin had skinnyish barrels. The 44B had the larger locking pin and heavier barrels.

The triggers can be replaced with any that will fit a Rem 700 mine had a Shilen 2oz now it has a Timney, there used to be some three lever conversions around don't know who did them
had one on an Omark I sold should have swapped it out before selling it was better than the Shilen, a good mod is to fit a SA Rem 700 main spring Omarks are well known for light strikes
