    One piece scope mounts.

Ok, let me give you some back story.
Bought a Santa Barbara mauser in 7x57
Beautiful piece, came with a Nikko, shot really well.
Worked up some handloads, improved even more.
Bought a VX111 and mounted it, cant even hit an a4 paper at 25m
    One piece bridge scope mounts
So tomorrow I’m pulling the scope off, checking everything, and bore sighting it.
Both of the rings have a allen screw from the side of the mount, and continuing through and I assume locking them into place.
The ‘groove’ the rings sit in, look to be able to move that ring a small amount across the bridge.
I assume you can move the rings, left or right, within the bridge.
Never seen anything like it before, but it can see the logic
Has anyone encountered this before ?
I’ll be interested to see the comparison between where the boresight aims, and the Leupy.
Of course, they might be the same ( hopefully) but then where the hell did my sighters go last range day ?
Anyway, range open on sunday, so hopefully all good.

Yes, it could be the scope, but hey, I love my Leupys.

what sort of base? Controle or a brand I have only just learned about SK, have the allen screws front and back. If so yes you can do a little bit of prelim scope adjustment with them

Sounds like you might have a Hilliver or Ausinel base and rings? If so you use the grub screws holding the rings to the base to get your scope lined with the bore before fine tuning windage using the scope adjustment. Bore sight at 25 and then further out on bags…

Not sure what brand they are, but after bore sighting at 20m, the Leupy was about 8” left.
    Height was fine.
I’ve moved the rings over and it looks like we’re in the ballpark
Range day tomorrow will tell all.
    Thanks for the info guys.

    One piece scope mounts.

Make sure your scope windage adjustment is centred after bore sighting by adjusting windage grub screws.

Yeah, center the scope windage and elevation (all over one way, count the turns back to the opposite stop and centralise half way) then center the windage on the mounts. If the elevation is at an extreme of top and bottom it can make the windage look funky and not be quite in the center...

Fire a shot at 5 or 10m to start.
