Thread: Opinions on a varmint optic (223)

I use a .223 in a similar way. Tikka Supervarmint.

The rifle has worn a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50, a Vortex Viper PST Gen 1 6-24x50 and a Sightron S-TAC 4-20x50.

For me with kind of shooting, the most important component is the mechanism and all three of the scopes were bang on. Varminting at 400m plus is very satisfying and that’s what I would focus on if I were you. Glass can be good solid mid-range with good parallax and a mil reticle of some kind. Of the above scopes I wish I could combine the Bushnell’s glass with the Sightron’s mechanics.

Not quite the xrs2 was there top scope now it’s xrs3. The forge is a lower tier compared to the xrs2

Hamills Tauranga have had some very well priced listings on trademe recently for bushy elite tac models like the dmrii illuminated and XRS2 non-illume. I’ve spoken with them as was going to drop in, but they weren’t in stock in store, but available at the nz distributor. Assume running them out as the xrs3 is coming out?!
